About Ascent Development
In the UK we work on average between 45 to 50 years of our life. If we work full time in a physical work place we may find ourselves spending more time with our colleagues than with our loved ones. That is mind blowing! Since the global pandemic the workplace has changed. As of June 2023 10% of UK workers worked from home all of the time and 29% work from home some of the time (Forbes).
The way we work may have changed but we still need to collaborate and communicate with others.
When people work well together there are numerous benefits to individuals, teams and the organisation. If you’ve experienced this you’ll know exactly how this feels. However, one of the things which hasn’t changed is that there can be a number of challenges too. These can often stem from people not understanding each other and miscommunication.
The single most common contributor to conflict is differences in personality or styles of working, supporting a relational view of conflict.
